THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Democratic Citizens' Forum of India has urged the State Government to ensure the safety of pedestrians in the city. The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by V.P. Napoleon. The forum voiced its resentment over the alleged practice of directing polluted water from drainage manholes and pumping stations into the city's rivers and rivulets. The forum also urged the State Government to control the mushrooming of flats that are depleting the ground water resources. Sasthamangalam Gangadharan, secretary of the forum, welcomed the gathering.
