KOCHI: Two books, `Sri Madhwacharyar - Life and Vision,' and `Thathwadithrayam,' published by Sri Sukrithindra Oriental Research Institute, Thammanam, will be released by the head of Kashi Matt, Sudheendra Theertha Swami, on Monday evening at Kashi Matt, Ambalamedu. — Staff Reporter

Elephant kills mahout

KOCHI: An elephant killed its first mahout at Paravur on Sunday night. The elephant, which was being taken back from a festival, turned violent on the road. — Staff Reporter

Two killed in accident

KOCHI: A 55-year-old man and his daughter, aged 15, were killed when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a transformer near Pulluvazhi village office on Sunday.

The police identified the deceased as Sadasivan, son of Madhavan of Nangelil House, Perumbavoor and his daughter Ashwathi. The accident occurred at 3 p.m. Sadasivan died at Sanjo Hospital, Perumbavoor, and his daughter at Medical Mission Hospital, Kolencherry.

Renjith, a relative, who was travelling in the car, sustained injuries. He was hospitalised. — Staff Reporter
