WORD OF SOLACE: Rajkumar's sons speaking to an injured person at a hospital in Bangalore on Sunday. Photo: By Special Arrangement
BANGALORE: The three sons of Rajkumar on Sunday visited Victoria Hospital, Bowring Hospital and Mallige Nursing Home and expressed their concern for the persons injured in the violence that followed the death of the veteran actor. Shivraj Kumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneet Rajkumar distributed sweets to the injured persons and consoled them. Some of the injured police constables told them that they were too fans of Rajkumar and wondered why they were targeted by the mob. A constable at Bowring Hospital wanted the film star's family to give compensation to the family of Manjunath Malladi, Karnataka State Reserve Police who was lynched by a mob near the Siddalingaiah Circle on Thursday. Mr. Shivraj Kumar and his brothers told the injured that miscreants and anti-social elements were responsible for the vandalism and not the fans of Rajkumar. The violence had caused a lot of pain to the family, they said. Seven persons were killed in police firing and one constable was lynched in the violence that affected the city for two days after the death of Rajkumar.
Ceremonies
Meanwhile, family sources said the 11th day death ceremonies would be performed at the Palace Grounds on April 23. The sources added that the preparations were on at the Palace Grounds.
