ANANTAPUR: TDP legislator from Penukonda Paritala Sunita has alleged that eligible poor in her constituency are being denied houses under Indiramma scheme as they are TDP sympathisers. Talking to newspersons here on Monday, she said that the Congress supporters were sanctioned houses even though they were not eligible and were living in other areas. This was being done at the behest of Congress leaders at the district and constituency-level, she said. She represented the matter to District Collector Y.V. Anuradha on Sunday, who assured the legislator of looking into it. She said that the gram sabha held in Polepalli gram panchayat in Ramagiri mandal - having four habitations had finalised the number of beneficiaries for houses at 179. However, in the name of re-survey, the number was limited to 129 and the names that were deleted from the final list were all TDP supporters, even though they were eligible in all respects, the legislator alleged. On being questioned, the local TDP activists were being threatened both by the Congress leaders as well as the officials, she alleged. Citing few more examples of denial of houses to the eligible families, the legislator said only five houses were sanctioned to TDP supporters out of 82 given in Locharla village of Roddam mandal .
