KADAPA : Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy allotted adequate funds to Veligallu medium irrigation project to ensure its expeditious completion, Rajampet MP A. Sai Prathap said on Monday. Addressing a Praja Patham gram sabha at Kuppam panchayat in Chakrayapet mandal, the MP called upon farmers to fix capacitors to their motors in order to save power consumption and prevent burning of motors. The Government was extending free power supply to farmers and waived power charge arrears of Rs. 1,200 crores, he said. Kadapa MP Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy urged people to draw the attention of officials towards their problems. Housing would be provided besides augmentation of drinking water supply, power connections, ration cards, employment and loans at 25 paise interest, he said. Earlier, the MPs inaugurated Kuppam panchayat secretariat building constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 lakhs. The MLA inaugurated a protected water scheme costing Rs. 4 lakhs in Burujupalle and a colony of 24 houses in Chinnamoraiahgaripalle in the panchayat. At a gram sabha at Gondi panchayat, Mr. Mohan Reddy assured construction of Nimmakunthamadugu project and power supply to Gondi. APSIDC chairman Chandrsekhar Reddy, Zilla Parishad CEO P. Durga Prasad and other officials took part.
