Jeev in top 200 after Beijing win

New Delhi: Jeev Milkha Singh's first title in seven years at the Volvo China Open has lifted him 124 places to number 195 in the latest world golf rankings.

Jeev, recognised as one of the pioneers among the Indians in the sport, was languishing at 319th spot last week, but his victory in Beijing took him into the top 200.

However, Jyoti Randhawa remains India's top golfer with a ranking of 112, an improvement of one spot over last week. He is the third-highest placed Asian behind Korea's Choi Kyung-Ju (43rd) and Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand (93rd).

Arjun Atwal climbed five places to be 135 while Shiv Kapur gained one slot to 145th.

Tiger Woods continues to lead the charts ahead of U.S. Masters champion Phil Mickelson. Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen and Ernie Els occupy the next three slots. — PTI
