Sahara One to beam EurAsia series

Mumbai : Sahara One has bagged the telecast rights of the six-nation BSNL EurAsia Cricket Series 2006, conducted by the Abu Dhabi Cricket Association (ADCA), featuring the `A' teams of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Holland, Ireland and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

At a press conference here on Monday, former BCCI President, Sunil Dev, said the Jawaharlal Nehru Trust was also associated with the tournament.

The 13 limited-over matches of the EurAsia series will be telecast live on Sahara One and Sahara Filmy.

The tournament begins on April 22 with a match between Ireland and UAE. The final would be played on May 5.

The prize money: Winner: $25,000, runner-up: $15,000, winner of each match: $1,000, loser: $500; Man of the Match: $500; Man of the Series: $3,000; Best batsman, bowler, wicketkeeper, fielder: $1,000 each; Most number of sixes (minimum 12): $ 750; Most number of fours (minimum 20): $ 500.

Groups: Group A: India, Holland, Pakistan; Group B: Sri Lanka, UAE and Ireland.

Match schedule: League stage 1: April 22: Ireland v UAE; April 23: India v Holland; April 24: Sri Lanka v Ireland.

April 25: Pakistan v Holland; April 27: Sri Lanka v UAE; April 28: India v Pakistan.

April 29 to May 4: League stage 2 (team topping Group A will be regrouped in C with the second and third teams in Group B and the team topping Group B will be regrouped in D with the second and third teams in Group A).

May 5: Final (between the top two teams in Group C and D).
