When the case came up for hearing, T. Balasundaram, Special Public Prosecutor (SPP), Special Investigating Team (SIT), said Arumugam (A16) and R. T. "Palani (A14) has since been arrested and remanded to custody, but Arumugam's whereabouts are not known", he said, requesting the court to issue an arrest warrant. Judge M. Chinnapandi posted the case to April 27 for production of the accused. He also issued a prisoner's transfer warrant for Palani. The date for commencement of trail will be fixed on April 27. Seven accused, including Acharyas Jayendra Saraswathi and Vijayendra Saraswathi, Sundaresa Iyer, Raghu and Meenakshisundaram, were not present in court. Separate petitions seeking to dispense with the appearance of the five were filed.
