COLOURFUL: Students of Sri Vani Education Centre at their Graduation Day function.
Bangalore: It was an emotional occasion for students of Prasiddhi School, Vasanthnagar, at the graduation ceremony held on their school premises recently. In his message, Narayana Raju, secretary of the institution, advised the students to always keep good company. M.C. Prakash, head of the Department of English, Vidya Vardhaka Sangha First Grade College for Women, was the chief guest. He spoke on the importance of having a vision in life and acting upon it. "A vision with action can change the world," he said. Mr. Prakash cited incidents and narrated anecdotes to drive home his point. "You need to become perfectionists to realise your dreams and to become perfect don't ignore even a minor flaw," he said. He told the students to experience the joy of giving "something" back to society. He advised the students to set goals and work towards achieving them. The class teachers passed on the "lamp of knowledge" to the students. L.V.R. Iyengar, adviser for the institution, welcomed the gathering.
Memorable day
Sri Vani Education Centre, Hanumavana, held its Kindergarten Graduation Day on its campus. It was a memorable day for the 134 "graduates" who looked elegant in their attire. Two songs that contained a message to the children and a dance on "Kannada Varnamale" were the highlights of the function. Each "graduate" received a "memoir", a compilation of the individual work through the year and a certificate. Nagaraj and Shantha Nagaraj of Prasanna Counselling Centre presided over the function. They spoke on the care to be taken by adults while addressing the needs of tiny tots. The annual report of the nursery section was presented. Principal L.S.S. Sharma welcomed the gathering and vice-principal Karthiyayini Bhat proposed a vote of thanks.
Graduation Day
India International School held its annual "Kindergarten Graduation Day" on its premises. The tiny tots, all attired in their graduation robes, exuded confidence as they received their certificates. To encourage and appreciate the best quality in each child, the "best all-rounder," the "most well behaved" and the "most creative child" prizes were presented. Angela Roye, early childhood educator, was the chief guest and she inaugurated the art and craft exhibition. The former Minister A. Krishnappa was the guest of honour. The programme concluded with a "goodbye" song by students of lower kindergarten.
