Police Commissioner Ajai Kumar Singh held a meeting with senior police officers on Monday evening to chalk out the security arrangements. The condolence meeting will be held on the National College Grounds on at 6 p.m., police said. After the meeting, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Bipin Gopalakrishna told The Hindu that adequate troupes would be deployed at all sensitive areas. Mr. Gopalakrishna said as many as 60 platoons of the Karnataka State Reserve Police, 30 platoons of the City Armed Reserve and three companies of the Rapid Action Force would be deployed at sensitive areas. He said additional forces (KSRP) were being requisitioned from other parts of the State to strengthen security. If need be, more forces would be requisitioned depending upon the situation on Wednesday. He said a number of people have been arrested on Monday by the police in connection with the funeral violence. The police are making use of video footage, photographs and eyewitness accounts to arrest the culprits, he added.
