BANGALORE: The Commercial and Institutional segment of Wipro Consumer Care on Tuesday launched the premium architectural lighting range. With the retail segment estimated to spend over Rs. 500 crore on lighting alone for greater footfalls, Wipro was hoping to carve a sizable percentage of it with its new and innovative lighting solutions for international standard retail outlets coming up in the country. Rajesh Kochchar, Chief Executive of Commercial and Institutional segment in the lighting area, told newspersons here that lighting was one of the most critical parameters in creating the right kind of ambience in a shopping space. He said Wipro was the first lighting company to launch a comprehensive range for the retail segment. The solutions were showcased at the Wipro "Light Show'' here. Wipro had already completed providing lighting solution to the third line of Delhi's Metro Rail at a cost of Rs. 8 crore. The experience gained in intelligent lighting solution for Metro Rail would help provide superior high-end lighting products and control systems to large retail spaces. He said the lighting solution business of the company had been growing at a healthy 20 per cent in the last few years and hoped that the trend would continue. On the occasion Wipro launched a new range of furniture including the Yuva range of chairs for the IT and ITeS segments. UNI
