Science Quiz to mark Technology Day

Thiruvananthapuram: May 11 of every year as observed in India as the National Technology Day, to remember the contributions made by our scientists and engineers in the fields of space research, biotechnology, medical sciences and pure sciences and also to draw the attention of youngsters to the nation's achievements.

The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences & Technology and Terumo Penpol Limited are coming together to celebrate the National Technology Day this year.

Leading scientists and technologists will speak to the student community about the exciting and highly rewarding opportunities that science and technology can offer them, at a function to be held at the Achutha Menon Centre auditorium, Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, at 9.30 a.m.

With the younger generation increasingly attracted towards the area of Information Technology and management, where heavy pay packets are a major incentive, an introduction to the career opportunities in pure sciences has become necessary.

A full day event including a Science Quiz and interactive sessions for young students is being planned.
