THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: During the fortnight ending on April 12, the Anti-Power Theft Squad of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) detected power theft and other irregularities causing a revenue loss of over Rs.75 lakhs to the KSEB. In a press release here on Monday, the squad said it had conducted 335 surprise inspections on the premises of consumers suspected of indulging in power theft and irregularities. As many as 36 cases of power theft and 45 cases of other irregularities were detected. The squad urged the people to contact the following telephone number if they had information useful in detecting power theft: 0471-2472353 (Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts).
