BIJAPUR: Charging Maharashtra with violating the Bachawat Tribunal award and utilising more water by enhancing its storage capacity, the farmers' wing of the Bhima River Water Protection Committee on Tuesday urged the State Government to form a special team to study the issue. President of the committee Panchappa Kalburgi said that while the award allowed the upper riparian State to utilise 585 tmcft of water of the Krishna, Maharashtra was using 650 tmcft by increasing its storage capacity, thus posing a threat to the State farmers. The team to be set up should study the matter and bring it to the notice of the tribunal headed by Justice Brijesh Kumar, he said. UNI
