Concern India Foundation in association with ABN AMRO and The Oberoi in New Delhi is organising an art exhibition-cum-sale titled "Art for Concern" this coming Saturday. The exhibition, to be held at The Oberoi, will include a range of works in watercolours, oils and acrylics. More than 50 artists from all over the country will take part, including Manu Parekh, Anupam Sood, Mona Rai, Hemraj and Laila Khan Rajpal to name only a few. Concern India Foundation is a non-government organisation that also functions as a public charitable trust. Proceeds collected by the Foundation are used in aid of programmes relating to education, health, community development and environment. Monetary support is also extended to other NGOs working in the concerned areas. The Dutch bank ABN AMRO is sponsoring the art exhibition-cum-sale through its Van Gogh Preferred Banking scheme. Inspired by the celebrated Dutch painter Van Gogh, the bank has had a long association with art. Having sponsored several art exhibitions abroad, ABN AMRO Van Gogh Preferred Banking has been supporting art in India since its introduction in the country a few years ago. Funds raised from sales at "Art for Concern'' will be used by Concern India Foundation to support a variety of developmental programmes. -- Staff Reporter
