Mumbai: Kenia Jayantilal, capped once by India against the West Indies at Sabina Park in 1971, is looking forward to what he described as a "once-in-a-lifetime" benefit match at the Police Gymkhana here in Friday, April 21. Thanks to two diamond jewellery companies, Orra and Kiah, Jayantilal and former India left arm seamer Karsan Ghavri will receive a handsome purse. "I have waited for 20 years for this match. I never got a reply from the BCCI for a long, long time, but now the BCCI has given me a date. I played Ranji Trophy for Hyderabad for 10 years, but lived in Mumbai for 30 years. Hence I opted for Mumbai for my benefit match. I have worked hard for many years coaching different Ranji Trophy teams," said Jayantilal at the Police Gymkhana on Monday. Looking back at his one-Test career, Jayantilal said there was always a feeling of disappointment of not being capped more than once. "I did not have a godfather." Jayantilal thanked Harshad Metha and Govindbhai Kakadia of the Orra and Kiah group for agreeing to sponsor the benefit match, that will feature Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, M.S. Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, M. Kaif, Irfan Pathan, Anil Kumble, Ajit Agarkar, Ramesh Powar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sandeep Patil and many film actors. The 30-over match will be played under floodlights.
