Total knee replacement surgery performed

HUBLI: A total knee replacement surgery has been performed successfully on a 70-year-old woman at the Railway Hospital, Hubli.

Leena Gomez was admitted to the Central Railway Hospital with a complaint of severe pain in her right knee since two years.

A team of orthopaedic surgeons comprising S.V.O. Chandrakumar and Arunkumar and Venkatesh examined the patien.

It was decided to carry out total knee replacement surgery on the patient, a press release said.

The surgery was performed on her on April 14.

Ms. Gomez has recovered quickly after the surgery and is expected to be discharged from the hospital shortly, the press release added.
