Jaffer undergoes surgery
Mumbai: India's Test opener Wasim Jaffer underwent a surgical intervention for a shin related niggle in his right leg.
"I was operated by Dr. Anant Joshi (BCCI's medical advisor and sports medicine expert) last Thursday,'' said Jaffer.
Following his excellent run in the domestic championships, Jaffer was recalled for the series against Pakistan, but did not figure in the three Tests. However, he opened for with Virender Sehwag in the three home Tests against England.
The Indian team physio John Gloster has advised Jaffer rest for three weeks. The Mumbai batsman is likely to be fit for the four-Test series against West Indies, which begins in June. Special Correspondent
