CHENNAI: For Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan, S. Badrinath and Dinesh Kaarthick, the upcoming EurAsia Cup is an opportunity to catch the eyeballs that matter. At different stages in their thrust for Indian colours, the trio from Tamil Nadu are part of the India `A' cricket team led by Venugopala Rao and coached by Robin Singh that will compete in the tournament in Abu Dhabi. State skipper Badrinath, who has been included in the `A' team for the first time, said, "I have been in good form and will look to carry it into this tournament, do well and come into the reckoning." Opener Vidyut said he was confident of making big scores after his success in the Deodhar Trophy and the Challenger series final. "I've always backed my batting, so this is a good platform for me," he said. Kaarthick, who has been elbowed out of the wicketkeeping slot by M.S. Dhoni, is also hopeful of doing well. Standing in for the rested Dhoni in the final ODI against England, he took two excellent catches and a good performance in Abu Dhabi will ensure that the selectors look at his name first, should a vacancy arise. The team will assemble in Mumbai before flying out on April 21. Sports Reporter
