PALAKKAD: Swami Bhoomananda Theertha of Narayana Thapovanam will inaugurate the Brahmana Maha Sammelan at Palakkad Town Hall on Sunday. S. Gurumoorthy will deliver the keynote address on `community should stand on their own.' N.S. Ramaswamy, formerly with the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, will deliver a lecture on `contribution of Brahmins for Indian renaissance.' The meet is being jointly organised by the Palakkad district unit of Kerala Brahmana Sabha and the Puthucode Upasabha. K.S.K. Nathan, general convenor of the meet, said the sabha would revive the working of the upasabhas, construct low-cost shelter for poor Brahmins and implement Mediclaim for the Purohitas of Palakkad district.
