TIRUPATI: A two-member team from the Medical Council of India sent to Tirupati for verification of the infrastructure available in the various Government general hospitals in Tirupati completed its task on Tuesday. The team comprising Prof. Ananda Kannan, principal investigator of the MCI and Prof. Kar of Microbiology department, Lady Harting Medical College, New Delhi was assigned the task for the purpose of regularising the extra 50 extra seats sanctioned to Sri Venkateswara Medical College. Asked about the impression of the team Chintha Mohan, MP, Tirupati, said the members did have reservations over the condition of certain wards and the non-working of its radiology department. Dr Mohan said that the team was of the opinion that SVRR Hospital, Maternity Hospital, SVIMS and BIRRD could be brought under the umbrella of the TTD.
