"People will see through the game"

Staff Reporter

Coimbatore: Ridiculing both the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for playing politics on rice, the general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sushma Swaraj said the people of Tamil Nadu were capable of seeing through the game.

She was talking to reporters at the Coimbatore airport on her way to Kerala for electioneering. "I do not understand why the DMK and the AIADMK are raising the issue on the eve of elections". She pointed out that both parties had ruled the state for quite a long time and nobody had stopped them from giving rice at Rs. 2 per kg or free of cost. The BJP without aligning with any other major political party in Tamil Nadu was laying the foundation for capturing power, she said. She would campaign in Tamil Nadu on May 2 and 3.
