Does it seem like a good idea to celebrate your birthday at a health screening camp? It did to actor Vikram.
On Monday, the film star celebrated his birthday at a free camp for identifying disabilities among children and screening for diabetes organised by Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute. It was appropriate that Vikram, who is also the brand ambassador for Vidya Sudha, Sri Ramachandra Learning Centre for children with special needs, spent the day with 65 children who needed that extra touch of care. Vidya Sudha consists of a team of experts, including paediatricians, clinical psychologists, physiotherapists and Montessori teachers, who take care of the children's needs. Vikram visits the centre often and his fans clubs have joined Vidya Sudha in spreading the message of preventing mental retardation.
