Student held for assaulting constable

VIJAYAWADA: The Machavaram police on Tuesday arrested a college student on the charge of assaulting a traffic constable. The police said that Jasti Setu Madhav (20), a B.Sc (Biotechnology) student in Nalanda Degree College was intercepted by the constable T. Venkateswara Rao for violating traffic rules.

Bodies found

The Kothapet police on Tuesday found the body of a 45-year-old man in a canal near `Vijaya' milk factory. The body was in a decomposed condition and the police are yet to identify the victim. In another incident, the Satyanarayanapuram police found the body of a 50-year-old man in Eluru canal near Budameru Katta. A case was registered.
