Woman commits suicide after poisoning children

TAMBARAM: A 26-year-old woman and her two sons were found dead in their apartment at Bhagavathi Nagar in Selaiyur on Tuesday.

The police said the victims were Vijaya and her children Ganesh and Udaya. A native of Andhra Pradesh, Vijaya was married to a supervisor employed in a printing press. Her husband left for work early on Tuesday morning. Neighbours suspected something wrong when she did not come out for long, and informed her husband.

The rear door was broken open, and the bodies recovered when he returned.

The police said the woman committed suicide after poisoning her sons. A probe by a Revenue Divisional Officer would be conducted, the police said.
