VIJAYAWADA: Himachal Pradesh defeated Tripura 7-0 in Group `G', while Andhra Pradesh toyed with Uttaranchal 10-0 in Group `E' in the league matches of the DNR 12th sub-junior National hockey championship at the DNR College grounds in Bhimavaram on Wednesday.

For host Andhra, Shaik Firdouse scored four goals (fifth, eighth, 54th and 64th minutes), while K. Krishna Kishore chipped in with two, out of which, one was a penalty corner in the 66th minute.

Overage problem haunted the championship, as many players from majority of teams were found older than the age limit. The Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) has changed the age limit for players and has decided that those born on or after January 1, 1990, are eligible to take part in the tournament.

Barring Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, all the teams had overaged players.
