Bidding norms for transmission
NEW DELHI:
Private power companies, which build wholly-owned transmission systems, would now have to sign agreements directly with State utilities which purchase that electricity, instead of an earlier proposal where a central government agency would have mediated. The change in the payment security mechanism for investors is part of the final guidelines notified by the Power Ministry for tariff-based competitive bidding for transmission service, a senior government official told PTI.
