Don't give land to `dubious' companies: H.K. Patil
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council H.K. Patil has demanded that the Government revoke the decision taken at a State High-level Coordination Committee meeting on March 24 to allot 2,039.6 hectares of land to five "dubious" firms, which were claiming that the land was for IT (information technology) companies.
He told presspersons here on Tuesday that the Government had erred in allotting prime land to "a few real-estate developers based in Mumbai". He said Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy should intervene immediately and revoke the decision to allot land to real-estate developers in Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural and Mandya districts.
25 projects
The committee had allotted 3,261 hectares for 25 proposed projects, including those of the IT sector, and the Government should explain why a vast extent of land was given away at the cost of farmers, Mr. Patil said.
