COMEDK response to students' plaint
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
COMEDK has written to the S. Venkataraman Committee that all eligible candidates who had secured between 40 per cent and 50 per cent in the PGET were allowed for counselling.
The letter was in response to a complaint by certain 2A and 3A category students that they were not allowed to take part in the COMEDK's counselling process on April 17. Despite being informed earlier that 40 per cent marks was the eligibility, they were allegedly told that 50 per cent was the minimum qualification for counselling, the students had complained to the Venkataraman panel.
In the letter to the committee, COMEDK executive secretary S. Kumar furnished the list of 98 medical candidates who had registered for counselling. All these candidates had secured between 40 per cent and 50 per cent marks in the PGET. The list had the registration numbers of five of the six candidates who petitioned the panel, he said.
