The scores: Maruthupandiar CC 182 for eight in 36 overs (Theivendran 47, Rama 42, Noor Mohamed six for 33) bt Agni CC 179 in 44 overs (Saravanan 50). KTMCC 186 in 30.1 overs bt Robin Brothers CC 85 in 23.5 overs (Thamba four for 16). Maruthupandiar CC 160 for five in 45.4 overs (Theivendran 59, Saravanan 57) bt National CC 123 in 27.3 overs.. Crescent CC 92 in 22.3 overs lost to Grand Slam CC 93 for four in 9.3 overs. Agni CC 197 in 37.1 overs (Jerome 54) bt National CC 102 in 24 overs (Saravanan four for 17, Guna four for 32). Rainbow CC 167 in 42.1 overs (Chidambaram four for 36) bt Mohamed Sathak Engineering College CC, Kilakarai 152 in 37 overs (Sadashivam 48). Crescent CC 105 in 32.4 overs (Senthil four for 10) bt Maruthupandiar CC 102 in 17 overs (Fai Rose four for 26, Syed four for 17).
Tamil Nadu team
A 21-member team is representing Tamil Nadu in the sub-junior National hockey championship. The tournament concludes on April 25. Summer camp
The Madurai District Hockey Association, in association with G.K. Motors will conduct a summer camp at the Ellis Nagar hockey ground, Madurai, from April 21 to May 10. For details, call 9443144405.
Cricket coaching
Thirty boys below 17 from all Districts of Tamil Nadu will attend the TNCA cricket coaching camp organised by the Theni District Cricket Association at the Horticultural college ground, Periakulam, from April 20 to May 6. The coaches for the camp are Jaffer Asique Ali and T. Devendra Kumar. Sathish Kumar is the physical trainer. A video analyst, who is yet to be named, also will be in the camp.
CAMBC registers win
Host Cauvery Ammal Memorial Basketball Club beat Marichamy Memorial Basketball Club, Karur, 46-32 in the inaugural match of the 14th State-level open basketball tournament at the Government HSS ground, Vadamadurai, in Dindigul on Wednesday. The results: Cauvery Ammal BC 46 (Dinesh 16, Muthukumar 14) bt MMBC, Karur 32 (Manickam 10). Wings BC, Didnigul 52 (Prince Vincent 18, Hariharan 16) bt Sivagangai BC 39 (Abudhahir 15, Raja Prabu 11).
Nimalan bowls well
Nimalan's four-wicket haul guided Mahatma Gandhi CV to a 51-run win over Renga Matriculation School in the inter-school league tournament, conducted by Tiruchi DCA, on Wednesday. The scores: Mahatma Gandhi CV 127 for nine in 29 overs bt Renga Matriculation School 76 in 16.5 overs (Nimalan four for 20). Ponniah HSS 67 in 21.3 overs (S. Parthiban three for 29, R. Vivek Swaminathan three for 4) lost to The Boys HSS 69 for two in 9.4 overs.
Chess tournament
Vijay Anandh Chess Academy will conduct Cholamandalam tournament for boys and girls at the S.M HSS in Tiruchi on April 30 and May1. The tournament will be held in under-10, 12, 15 and open categories. Contact M. Iravatham at 9842678108.
Easy for Cuddalore
Cuddalore thrashed Sivaganga 51-3 in a league match of the State youth basketball Championship conducted by the NLC basketball Club at Neyveli on Wednesday. Carmel top scored for Cuddalore with 12 points while Ramanthan managed 10 points for the winner.
Coaching camp
