Governor to visit Meerut, Aligarh

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Governor T. V. Rajeswar will visit the riot-hit Aligarh and Meerut on April 22.

According to Raj Bhawan sources, Mr Rajeswar will visit the riot-hit areas of Aligarh, besides the Victoria Park area in Meerut, where the trade fair fire occurred. The Governor will also visit hospitals to meet those injured in the inferno and the communal flare up.

The DMs of the districts have been directed to fix time for people delegation seeking to meet Mr Rajeswar during the visit. The Governor has postponed his visit to the two cities scheduled for April 15 last, following the April 14 bomb blasts in Jama Masjid, Delhi, to ensure that the district administrations could take extra precautions .to see that communal peace was maintained, the sources added.
