TV artist held for Vaishnavi's death

CHENNAI: The Anna Nagar police arrested Dev Anand (34), a television artist, in connection with the suicide of Vaishnavi, the television actor.

Police said on suspicion they interrogated Dev Anand, who acted with her in three serials, including `Manaivi'.

A few days ago, the two had a quarrel, the police said. After that the woman took the extreme step of ending her life.

A case under section 306 (abetting the commission of suicide) was registered against him. Originally the police registered a case of suspicious death, which was then altered, they added.

On Monday, Vaishnavi was found hanging from the ceiling in her house.
