THE CITY-BASED Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), managing the R.V. Group of Educational Institutions, has tied up with Nihongo Bashi of Singapore to set up a centre of excellence in Japanese education to benefit experienced graduates and industries, which have business industries with Japanese firms. The full-time programme, spread over one year, includes subjects related to language, business practices and heritage and culture in Japan. The classes will be taken by tutors from Japan, United States and Singapore. The tie-up is the first major cooperation treaty in the training services sector between a Singapore and Indian organisation since the two countries signed the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) last year.
Internship
ON APRIL 14, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) students of ICFAI National College here began their 16-week summer internship programme at 50 major corporate houses based in the city. The students had just completed their second semester. The Summer Internship Programme (SIP), according to the college officials, allows students to get corporate exposure in applying their theoretical knowledge in practical situations. The SIP carries a weightage of 12 credits, which is equivalent to three courses of four credits each.
Professor's visit
Jeffrey Ford, Associate Professor of Management and Human Resources, attached to the Fisher College of Business, Ohio State University, visited the Rai Business School recently and addressed students and industry stalwarts on the gap in reputation and work performance. He said high performaers were stars as they had found key points to produce quality and timely results. An expert in organisational change and management, Prof. Ford said performance depends on delivery.
Certificate course
