Sardar Gouthu Latchanna dead

VISAKHAPATNAM: Veteran freedom fighter and champion of backward classes Sardar Gouthu Latchanna died here on Wednesday morning. He was 96 and is survived by son Shyama Sunder Sivaji, who is a TDP MLA from Sompeta, and two daughters. A diabetic, Latchanna had been ailing for some time and went into coma a couple of days ago. The end came at 4.30 a.m.

The body was taken to Sompeta where the last rites will be performed and he will be rested beside the grave of his wife Yasoda Devi who died in 1996, family sources said.
