BHOPAL: The Election Commission on Thursday recommended removal of the Sehore District Collector and returning officer for the April 24 Budhni by-election and sought a panel of three names for posting a new officer in his place. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan is contesting the Budhni election as the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. The Election Commission's Director Administration, Rajesh Agrawal, toured the Budhni constituency on Wednesday and Thursday. At present two more Central observers are touring the constituency. They are S.P. Chaudhary, the expenditure observer and Harsharan Das. The decision to remove Returning Officer S.K. Mishra acquires significance as it comes in the wake of complaints of laxity in the compliance of the model code for elections.
