TIRUCHI : Political parties conforming to the model code of conduct have desisted from incurring extra expenditure in the form of displaying posters, banners, wall writings etc. At the same time, unable to be left out in the election race, they have evolved innovative and economic tactics to woo voters. The All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), for instance, has started adopting a three-in-one formula to canvass for the party candidates. The middle portion of the party flag, which usually carries the portrait of the late Annadurai, now prominently displays the image of the party chief, Jayalalithaa, and the `Two Leaves' symbol. The idea now is to make the people vote for the symbol and the leader, all the while ensuring an adherence to the model code of conduct.
