Fun-filled learning experience

TIRUCHI: It was a fun-filled learning experience for the kids who participated in the Creativity Workshop-2006 organised by Bala Kala Vidhanam, an academy of India arts, in Tiruchi recently. The workshop that aimed at igniting the creative spark in children, dealt with art and craftwork, which included painting, paper folding and cutting. These exercises also helped them to gain knowledge about usage of different colours.

Improving theatrical skills of the children was also a part of the programme. This activity improved the acting skills of those interested by instilling confidence in them to perform on stage. Due attention was also given to better their dialogue delivery.

Detailing on the initiative, the director of Bala Kala Vidhanam, Vrinda Ramanan said the workshop not just urged the children to think creatively, but also taught them to express themselves in an appropriate mannerand added that it also helped them to make new friends.

The resource person for the camp was S. P. Shrinivasan, who is a specialist in kids' theatre art.

At the valediction held recently the children staged a play `Let us save the forest.' The Tiruchi district collector, K. Nanda Kishore was present on the occasion and gave away certificates to the participants.
