Held for making
fake drink
According to the police, accused Sandeep Khullar had been selling the health drink in the garb of a cutlery factory for the past two years. He would allegedly procure the raw materials and the packets from local markets and supply the product to his clients outside the Capital.
Four robbers held
On Friday, the PCR patrol team arrested Amit, Kamal and Deepak on Tughlak Road. The three allegedly tried to rob a person of cash he was carrying. In another case reported on Thursday, the PCR team arrested Ikrar, an auto-rickshaw driver, for allegedly robbing two passengers of Rs. 6,000 in cash and wristwatch at Vivek Vihar in East Delhi. The fourth accused, Kuldeep, was arrested at Narela the same day on charges of bootlegging.
Woman found dead
The incident came to light when the neighbours smelt something foul in the apartment, which had remained shut for two days, and called the police. The couple apparently had just moved into the place earlier this month.
Fruit-seller robbed
In the first incident, two men on a motorcycle allegedly robbed Kishen Pal at 9-30 in the night. He was allegedly shot in the shoulder and the thigh. The police claim that they have arrested two people in this connection and checking out their antecedents. Kishen Pal is in hospital and under observation. In the earlier incident, four men on two motorcycles allegedly robbed Vaidyanath, a fruit-seller, on his way back home from Azadpur Mandi. He was carrying Rs. 7 lakhs in cash.
Illyasi moves court
The application in which he alleged that publishing or airing of views amounted to prejudicing the trial of the case, was filed before Additional Sessions Judge Chander Gupta. Ilyasi has sought initiation of contempt proceedings against his mother-in-law Rukma Singh and the reporters, printers, publishers and proprietors of some dailies and television channels. The application filed through his counsel R D Mehra alleged that Rukma Singh and the scribes have tried to influence the decision of the case by giving ``tainted version'' of it.
