Creating awareness
Ghatta Ulisi Andolana, would participate in the "padayatra", which had been organised to create awareness among the villagers on the impact of Gundia power project and minihydel projects. Vidya Prasanna Theertha Swamiji of Subramanya Math will lead the padayatra, he added. The implementation of the schemes would affect the bio-diversity in Western Ghats. These projects would harm wildlife to a great extent. He said that, the "padayatra" had been organised to urge the State Government to drop the idea of implementing the hydel projects and save the invaluable flora and fauna of the Western Ghats, which would face danger, because of human interference, he said.
