Sadananda Gowda stresses need for coordination Sadananda Gowda calls for coordination

Statements
  • Cadre will repose faith in the party only if their problems are settled amicably
  • A State-wide agitation will be held to protest against the functioning of UPA Government

CHIKMAGALUR: Sadananda Gowda, president of the State unit of BJP, defended his statement that the State Government had overlooked BJP workers while making nominations to the co-operative sector.

Addressing presspersons here on Sunday, Mr. Sadananda Gowda said that he had received complaints from party workers in this regard.

    Assurance

He said workers would repose faith in the party only if their problems were settled amicably. He said Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy had agreed to settle all differences at the co-ordination committee meeting.

Stressing the need for co-ordination between coalition partners at the district level, he said the people had high expectations from the coalition government in the State.

Mr. Sadananda Gowda, who is on a tour of the State to meet party workers in view of elections to local bodies, promised that his party would make sincere efforts to find solution to the problems faced by the people. He said a State-wide agitation would be held to protest against the functioning of the UPA Government.

Responding to a question on his party's stand with regard to the Dattatreya Peeta controversy, he said the primary agenda of the State Government was to settle all disputes amicably and maintain harmony throughout the State.

Replying to charges that his party had neglected its younger members while allotting ministerial berths, he said senior members who stood by the party for a long time had been given preference. There was still time to accommodate the youth and women, he added.

    S. Mallikarjunaiah, former deputy speaker of the Lok Sabha, and C.T. Ravi, MLA, were present.
