BELLARY: Sarojini Mahishi, writer and former Union Minister, will present the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Awards for 2005 at a function to be held at Basava Bhavan here on Friday. Krishnamurthy Kittur, R.V. Bhandari, Kalegowda Nagawar, Shashikala Veeraiahswamy and H. Girijamma are among those who will receive the awards. Hampa Nagarajaiah, researcher and writer, will be giving away the book awards on the occasion. Geeta Nagabhushan, chairperson of the Karnataka Sahitya Academy will preside. Sushma Singhvi and Anand Singh, will be chief guests. On Friday morning, a symposium on "Gurava prashasti puraskrutara sahityika sadhane" will be organised, which will be inaugurated by G. Pompanagowda, president of the Veerashaiva Vidyavardhak Sangh. V.G. Pujar will preside over the function. G. Kavyashree, Vishnu Nayak, G.V. Anandamurthy, Vijayakumar Katagihallimath and Veerbhadrappa will present their papers.
