The quality of engineering students is directly related to the projects they work on. And lack of practical exposure has pushed the students out of the `employable graduates' category despite their strong command on the subjects. A new initiative by a private institute plans to plug this gap and provide students with the experience of working on live projects. The Technology Development Centre (TDC), a private enterprise has tied up with the University of Western Sydney, Australia to bring synergies between industry and academia through research placements for Indian engineering graduates. The Chairman of Technology Development Centre (TDC), Dr. M.V.Ramana Rao, says the TDC had partnered with about 12 engineering colleges in the State and students of these colleges would get a chance to work on research projects, which would come through this alliance.
