Pharmacy meets management

The Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), a constituent unit of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is offering a unique integrated B.Pharmacy-MBA. The course started in 2004-05 and is conducted in collaboration with the Manipal Institute of Management. It is aimed at meeting the requirement of a postgraduate degree for pharmacy students and gives them an opportunity to strive for higher level of placements in the pharmaceutical industry and managerial opportunities in other industries/fields.

The programme is linked to the four-year B. Pharm degree. Out of six semesters, students will complete the first year of MBA (four semesters) during the third and fourth year of B. Pharm. Remaining two semesters will be in the fifth year during normal college hours at Manipal Institute of Management.

The students will acquire B. Pharm and an MBA at the end of the fifth year.

There is no difference between the regular and integrated MBAs as far as the syllabus and curriculum are concerned. Admission is through an entrance test.
