CHENNAI: Over 2,000 students appeared for the biology test on Saturday held as part of `The Hindu Education Plus - Aspire State-Level Mock Test' being conducted in the State over the weekend.

The test, aimed at preparing students for the upcoming engineering and medical entrance examinations, was held at four centres in Chennai — namely, T. Nagar, Mogappair, Adyar and Tambaram.

Preethi S, a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Meenambakkam, said, "I am here to get an idea of what the actual paper will be like."

"It is a very useful exercise as children will get an idea. My daughter has been going for classes at Aspire for the past couple of months," said S. Ganesan, who had come with his daughter G. Nirmala, all the way from Neyveli.

Extra practice

Adith R and Shyam Sudharshan were there for extra practice. "We could get a feel of the examination and know where we stand," said MBBS aspirant Adith.

Organisers said over 5,000 students were expected to appear for the Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry papers on Sunday.
