Williams in last eight

SHEFFIELD: Two-time champion Mark Williams and defending champion Shaun Murphy reached the quarterfinals of the World snooker championship here on Saturday. While Welshman Williams beat England's Mark Selby 13-8, Murphy brushed aside six-time champion Steve Davis 13-7.

Qualifier Marco Fu of Hong Kong defeated World No. 3 Stephen Maguire of Scotland 13-4 to make it to the last eight stage.
