Ex-MP cautions against split in Nepal Opposition
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI:
Surendra Mohan, former MP and a national convener of the Socialist Front, on Sunday cautioned the Government against tendering any advice to the Seven Party Alliance (SPA) in Nepal that would cause a split between it and the Maoists.
In a statement here, Mr. Mohan said the unity between the SPA and the Maoists had compelled the King to offer democratic rule.
However, unless Article 127 of the Nepalese Constitution was deleted from it, the King would have full authority to dismiss a democratically-elected Government and dissolve an elected Parliament.
