Yechury meets Pranab on Nepal

New Delhi: CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury on Sunday called on Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee and suggested a seven-point formula to end anarchy and restore peace in the Himalayan nation.

Talking to UNI after his hour-long meeting with Mr. Mukherjee, he said the formula included immediate restoration of the dissolved Parliament and setting up of an interim government.

The restored Parliament would decide on fresh elections and formation of a new government which would hold negotiations with the Maoists. The new Parliament would also review the Constitution and the role of the King. Mr. Yechury said the formula had been forwarded to King Gyanendra and a response was awaited.
