Manuganahalli villagers to press demand for road

Special Correspondent

MYSORE: Members of Raitha Krishi Karmika Sanghatane and Raste Horata Samithi of Hallada Manuganahalli will stage a demonstration in the city on Monday seeking better connectivity and infrastructure facilities in rural areas. — Special Correspondent

The activists are annoyed that Manuganahalli village in H.D. Kote taluk has been without a proper road for almost five decades and that people have been cut off from the rest of the district owing to poor connectivity.

The march will be taken out from Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple premises to the zilla panchayat office at 11.30 a.m.

Manuganahalli was an example of the Government's indifference towards developing infrastructure in rural areas.

The village did not even have a primary health centre, the activists alleged.

The village, located about 22 km from the city, was being neglected. It did not have power connection.

The absence of good roads had been posing a problem to those from the village who had to go to Mysore for work daily.
