Ex-councillor's killing: 10 held

ANANTAPUR: The police arrested 10 persons allegedly involved in the murder of former TDP councillor Ramanjaneyulu within hours of the commission of the crime on Saturday night. Nine hunting sickles and an autorickshaw were also seized from their possession.

Talking to newspersons here on Sunday, Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Jain stated that fight for supremacy in Munnanagar area led to the murder.

Among the arrested were T. Shankar, who is the director of town cooperative bank, T. Ramanna, T. Ramesh, B. Sudhakar, Madhubabu, C. Ramanjaneyulu, D. Shaikshahvali, S. Narasimhulu, T. Narendra and T. Ravi. All are from Anantapur except Ravi, who hails from Dharmavaram.

Meanwhile, TDP staged a rasta roko at Sapthagiri Circle protesting against the murder.
