Jayendra Saraswathi installs idol of Adi Sankaracharya

MYSORE: The seer of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, installed the idol of Adi Sankaracharya at Sri Sita Ramaswamy Temple premises in Mysore on Sunday.

Amidst chanting of Vedic hymns and traditional rituals associated with the installation of the idol, the seer offered puja to the idol on Sunday morning. The seer attended the prathisthapana and kumbhabhishekam of Sarvagna Peetharohita Srimad Shankara Bhagawadpadacharya Sannidhi at the temple situated on Seethavilas Road. Sri Sita Ramaswamy Temple is a part of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Sarvagna Peetam.

A large number of devotees participated in the idol installation ceremony on the temple premises. This is the first temple in Mysore dedicated to Adi Sankaracharya in Kancheepuram tradition.
